Lonnie J. McFadden and Cindy McFadden opened our business in Nevada Missouri, in 1998. Our title plant was built from scratch using the latest technology, at that time, to create search services that could be reproduced in our office rather than rely on taking copies from the Recorder’s Office.
In 2000, the McFaddens were given the opportunity to purchase an existing title & abstract office, Pahlow & Pahlow, that was a family held business since inception, 1918. We felt very blessed to have the opportunity to keep the business going in Lamar Missouri, our home town. This office has records that date to the original transfer of property from the US Government to private ownership.
Both Lonnie and Cindy are from the immediate area. After a brief stint in college Lonnie headed to Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico and worked as a surveyor for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for each perspective state. When the opportunity came available, he moved back to Missouri to work on the survey of Truman Lake and Stockton Lake. This experience has been invaluable from the standpoint of understanding property legal descriptions. The next phase of his work career saw him involved with the breakup of the phone company and creation of competitive phone companies and the need to build independent infrastructure. His responsibilities for various companies included determining land ownership through courthouse research, creating and reviewing contracts, and closing transactions.
Cindy McFadden moved into work outside of the home when her children were school age. Her first job was working in the Barton County, Missouri Courthouse at the Recorder of Deeds office. This experience gave her invaluable insight in document preparation, reading legals and know what type of instruments are used for various transactions.
